The Bulletin Board
Updated: 11/05/2009

Prayers of the People: When you place a friend or loved one’s name on the prayer list, you may also come by the church office and pick up a note card that can be mailed to that person letting them (or their family, if the case of a death) know that they have been prayed for. Please contact Linda if you have any questions or would like to pick up a card.

Vial of Life:  First responders need all the medical information they can get when treating a patient. The Vial of Life contains important medical information that can assist emergency personnel in administering the proper medical treatment. The new Vial of Life initiative, made possible through Forsyth County EMS will help provide this vital information. The Vial of Life program gives citizens the ability to prepare medical information for first responders. In the event of a medical emergency, the vial, containing medical information of the individual’s choosing, is then available for Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel to review. How the Program Works--  Citizens put any and all pertinent medical information on a provided form and place the form in the provided and well-marked medical vial. The vial is then placed in the refrigerator door for easy finding by first responders. An alert sticker is also provided for placement on or near the front door. This sticker allows for easy recognition by first responders, informing them that the Vial of Life program is present in the residence. Area first responders are trained to look in the refrigerator for this vital information. While the program is targeted toward senior citizens, it is available to any citizen, especially those that live alone. St. Clement’s has several of these Vials available in the church office. You may contact Linda in the office @ 766-4323 or any Vestry member if you are interested.

Kitchen supplies:  If you or your committee are planning any kind of social gathering that will include food, please check the kitchen (or Linda) for the supplies you need prior to purchasing more. All paper products and plastic utensils are located in the cabinets above and below the microwave. You never know what treasures you may find!

Altar Flowers:  Each Sunday the flowers on the altar are provided by parishioners. Sometimes there are reasons behind the dates selected by the donors, whether it is to remember the passing of a loved, to celebrate a special occasion such as a birthday or anniversary, or it’s in thanksgiving for something great in their lives.

If you would like to provide flowers for the altar, just print your name on any available Sunday on the sign-up sheet that is located on the bulletin board in the Narthex. Linda will call you the week before to remind you and to get your memorial information for the bulletin. Then it is up to you to decide to use a florist or to put an arrangement together yourself—it’s entirely up to you. Because the church office is closed Friday—Sundays, it is the responsibility of the donor to get the flowers to the church in time for the 8:45 service (a loaner key is available - contact the office). Please do not hesitate to call the office if you have any questions or need any help.

Hospital Visits:  Are you planning a hospital visit? Has a hospital visit surprised you? Has someone you care about taken ill? Please contact the church office or a member of the vestry. With new privacy laws, we do not know until you tell us.

Prayer List: In an effort to have our prayer list as current as possible, names will appear on the list for 4 weeks, after that time, names will be removed unless the office is notified. If you need to add a name to the list or would like to have a name remain on the list, please contact Linda Turley at scepc@bellsouth.net
